This neighborhood-based ambulatory clinical care facility involved the total renovation, conversion and fit-up of an existing 40,000 square foot loft building. The structure, built at the turn of the century, required a full exterior restoration which was complemented with the introduction of a new translucent storefront with uplit entry canopy at the street level. In addition to clinical facilities, the program incorporates administrative offices, counseling spaces, a teen outreach center and multipurpose facilities. By combining economical materials with an innovative design, TEK was able to achieve a cost effective, yet bright and energetic space. Nurses’ stations are easily identified, acting as a consistent locator on each of the floors. A single curving wall resonates through the building, defining a simple circulation at each floor.
